Cardigan météorologue, Ying Gao, 2005
Les conditions climatiques de Montréal, en janvier 2005, ont été les paramètres de création du cardigan : selon le temps qu’il faisait chaque jour pendant 31 jours, un cardigan de laine subissait des modifications de surface et de structure. . Des nouveaux matériaux, tels que des entoilages non tissés et thermocollants ont été détournés de leur fonction habituelle, soit solidifier le vêtement, pour être apposés à l’extérieur du vêtement, rendant ce dernier extrêmement fragile au contact de la chaleur et des objets pointus.

Meteorological Cardigan, Ying Gao, 2005
Montreal’s climatic conditions throughout January 2005 functioned as the creative parameters for this cardigan. On each of the 31 days, a wool cardigan underwent alterations to its surface and structure depending on the weather. New materials such as non-woven and fusible interfacing were diverted from their usual function as garment stabilizers. They were instead applied to the outside of the garment, making it extremely vulnerable to heat and sharp objects.
